Our mission is to reach lives for Jesus Christ behind prison walls.

Prison is a dark place. Along with our church partners we are able to shine the light of Jesus and make a difference in the life of inmates, their families, and society.

Statement of Faith

As a director, employee or volunteer of the Christian Prison Ministry of Mid-America, I commit to the following statement of faith:

1. There is only one true God, revealed to us in the Old and New Testaments as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 3:16-18)

2. The Old and New Testaments are fully inspired and without error and serve as God’s only written Word. (II Timothy 3:16-17 and II Peter 1:20-21)

3. Jesus is the Christ, the only Son of God, born of the virgin Mary, and He is in every way our only Savior. (John 14:6)

4. Jesus lived a perfectly sinless life, died on the cross as atonement for all people, and rose bodily from the grave to a state of immortality. (Hebrews 4:14-16 and II Corinthians 5:21)

5. Jesus commissioned His Apostles and His church to present the gospel plan of salvation to every individual of every nation. (Acts 1:8 and Matthew 28:19-20)

6. A person is saved by grace through faith in Christ, as expressed in the New Testament: faith, repentance, confession of faith in Jesus Christ, and baptism by immersion in water for the remission of sins and for the promised presence of the Holy Spirit. We are created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Romans 10:10 and 17, II Corinthians 7:10, Acts 2:38 and Ephesians 2:8-10)

7. Though no man can snatch us from God’s hand (John 10:28), we continue to have a free will to live for God by the power of the Holy Spirit. There is security as long as our trust is in Him and not ourselves. (Galatians 6:7-9, Hebrews 10:26, and Romans 8:13)

8. The basis of unity of all believers is a commitment to the authority of the New Testament. (Ephesians 4:4-6 and I Corinthians 1:10)

9. Jesus will one day return in visible form to judge all people and then issue either eternal blessedness in heaven or eternal suffering in hell. (I Thessalonians 4:13-18 and Matthew 25:31-46)

“This is what the Lord says, ‘to the captives, ‘Come out,’ and to those in darkness, Be free!”

— Isaiah 49:9
